Why I started Cars & Confessions

CAR ENTHUSIASTS NEED HONEST MONEY CONVERSATIONS.

Iā€™m Matthew Madanat, a car enthusiast and consultant based in Cary, North Carolina. Before the BRZ, I drove an older Mazda3 while I saved. I waited until I could buy the 2013 Subaru BRZ I wanted for $12,500 in cash, without taking on a car loan.

Buying it debt-free was the right start, but it did not make the hobby free. Maintenance, modifications, and track preparation added up quickly, and my first track attempt ended with the BRZ coming home on a U-Haul trailer. That experience is part of why I created Cars & Confessions.
